Our Story

It started with a thunderstorm in July 2023.

Our founder Kylie was working late in her Denver apartment when the first crack of thunder hit. Within seconds, her rescue cat Oscar — usually the boldest troublemaker in the house — had vanished. Kylie found him twenty minutes later, wedged behind the washing machine, pupils huge, breathing fast, completely unreachable.

He stayed there for six hours.

That night, Kylie went down the rabbit hole every pet parent eventually finds. Prescription sedatives? Too heavy, and her vet wasn't comfortable prescribing them for occasional storms. Calming treats from the pet store? The ingredient lists read like chemistry homework, and most took 60+ minutes to kick in — by then the storm was already over. CBD drops? Inconsistent dosing, murky regulation, and Oscar hated the taste.

There was nothing in the middle. Nothing that was fast, clean, and actually worked.

Kylie wasn't a veterinarian — but as a University of Michigan graduate and former tech product manager, she knew how to find the real problem, and how to build something that actually solved it.

So she did.

What We Believe

Three rules before we ever start.

Before we made anything, we had to decide what we stood for. These are the beliefs that shape every decision we make — from the plants we source to the partners we work with.

Nature deserves the first chance.

We believe the answer to anxiety doesn't have to start in a lab. Every active ingredient in Kindoly comes from a plant, an amino acid, or a vitamin — chosen because nature has done the work for thousands of years, not because it was the cheapest option on a spec sheet.

Science earns its seat at the table.

We believe nature and science aren't opposites — they're partners. Tradition tells us which plants have calmed animals for generations. Peer-reviewed research tells us how much, how often, and for whom. We won't put an ingredient in a Kindoly product unless both sides agree.

Our pets go first.

Before any formula leaves R&D, it's the bowl. Oscar, Biscuit, Rye, and Olive — the four pets that share the lives of every Kindoly team member — try every formula before it ever reaches your pet. If ours won't take it, yours won't see it.

From Need to Formula

Belief is one thing. Building it is another.

Kylie teamed up with Dr. Isabella, a licensed veterinarian based in Colorado with 15+ years in small animal practice and a focus on botanical pharmacology. Together, they spent 18 months testing combinations of L-Theanine, chamomile, and valerian root — searching for something that was fast enough for a thunderstorm, clean enough for a sensitive stomach, and gentle enough to use again tomorrow.

The result was Calming Drops — a fast-acting liquid formula that takes effect in 40–60 minutes, before the fireworks start, before the vet visit, before the suitcase comes out.

But as we shared early samples with pet parents, one question kept coming back: "What about the everyday stuff — the dog who's always tense, the cat who hides from guests every week?"

Acute anxiety wasn't the whole picture. So we developed a second formula for the quieter, chronic side of anxiety: Daily Calming Chews, crafted for sustained, everyday emotional balance.
